About This Course

This module is an extraction of one-week worth of Geomatics that is taught at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah. The entire course is a semester long (12 weeks) class with three university credits.

This is No. 1 out of 12 modules. The learner should take the course (Geomatics) in the sequence as later modules require knowledge in previous sections.

- describe what a GIS is and how a GIS is used to support decision makings

- interpret data represented on GIS with different features and attribute tables

- iidentify key capabilities of GIS and its analytical tools.
